Mauricio Pochettino wants to stay at Paris Saint-Germain outside of this season due to Manchester United interest, according to a new report.
The Argentine was heavily tied to his return to the Premier League and is said to be the main target alongside Erik ten Haga.
Pochettino managed Southampton before moving to Tottenham Hotspur where he was sacked months after siding on his side in the Champions League final.
According to Get French Football News, L’Equipe reports that the manager wants to stay with PSG following the departure of the Champions League with Real Madrid.
However, it will only stay if certain conditions are met.
Pochettino’s contract expires at the end of next season back into the Premier League with Spurs if Antonio Conte leaves the club or Man United at the table.
At the pre-match conference before the PSG clash with Monaco, the Argentine rejected the question about his future.
Instead, he insisted that his only goal was to end the current season with a club focused on making a late-season decision.
Then another question was asked about his future and it was there that he suggested that he would like to stay at the club if he had more say on transfers.
“At the club, we have to find the best way to work together. It means understanding that we have to adapt our ideas, our design, our methods, ”he said.
“There are many questions that need to be addressed so that employees like us and a club like PSG have similar ideas and visions.”
PSG takes first place in Ligue 1 this season, 12 points ahead of second-placed Marseille.
Given the fact that his work is reportedly hanging in a thread and Zinedine Zidane is waiting in the wings, Pochettino shows a certain front in making demands at this stage.
The Red Devils may announce the nomination of their next permanent manager in the next few weeks, according to level 1 journalist David Ornstein.
